Motion Sensor Outdoor
Lighting
Outdoor motion sensor lights do offer
some true benefits but they are not always appropriate for
your needs.
Some of the benefits are:
1. Security. A light that
goes on when someone moves on your property, or come
close to your house is a real deterrant for potential robbers,
intruders and other visitors with ill intent. Most thieves
like an easy target, and being startled by a beaming light
illuminating both them and their potential target can be
a real negative for them.
2. Safety.
When coming home late at night, having lights that illuminate
your drive way, and walkway along with your entrance can
prevent slip and falls or being surprised by someone lurking in
the shadows.
3. Convenience.
Having motion sensor outdoor lighting go on
automatically when you are around is very easy and convenient.
No need to scramble for a light sawitch in the dark. It can
also be cost effective, running the lights only when needed,
again without you having to manually turn the light
off.
Many models offer several setting where you
can leave the light on a very dim setting which will change to
full illumination when movement is detected.
Have nightly
visitors of the animal kind in your
yard?
Some cases when a sensor light may not work is if you live in
an area where you have animals visiting at night. Cats,
possums, Raccoons, etc. will all set off your lights and can be
annoying to you and those living next door. It can also be
disconcerting when that light goes off at 3 AM... Is there a
human out there, or is it just a possum?
Todays models of
outdoor motion sensor lights come in a
variety of stylish designs and uses sure to satisfy both
the need for functionality and
style.

light fixure you are happy with, you can purchase
the sensor separately. The motion sensor is easy to
install onto your existing light
fixture.
Dusk
to Dawn Feature
Many models, beside the motion sensor capability also have
a dusk-to-dawn feature where the lights will go on
automatically at dusk in the low-light mode. This is real
money saver. How often have you not forgotten to turn the light
off and the light has been on all day? When traveling or
for other reasons being away from home, it can also be nice to
know that the lights will come on everyday, making it appear
that someone is around.
